Formulation and Polymeric Drug delivery

The PMBRC is involved in niche areas of drug delivery including ocular and transdermal delivery research. Building on well-established expertise in polymer chemistry at W.I.T., the ocular research focuses on the development of biodegradable polymers and MIPs as a platform for controlled drug release in the eye. The PMBRC is also setting up a transdermal research network with industry and academic partners in Ireland and the UK. In addition, the PMBRC has oral dose drug delivery capability with a fluid bed coater/granulator and characterisation equipment.
