PMBRC Shortlisted for Pharma Industry Award
The PMBRC have been shortlisted for a 2014 Pharma Industry Award for the HIPODERM project. The awards recognise and celebrate the most original and innovative individuals and companies that demonstrate excellence in the Irish Pharma sector. The HIPODERM project is partnership between the PMBRC, EirGen Pharma (Waterford), Cardiff University and An-eX Analytical (Wales) to develop novel transdermal drug delivery technologies. The project to date has generated three invention disclosures and 9 proceedings at international conferences with a number of academic publications in press. A postgraduate student has recently being awarded a Ph.D. from WIT for her research on the project.
Dr. Peter McLoughlin who leads the HIPODERM consortium, said that the shortlisting “recognised the achievements of the HIPODERM team and the establishment of a sustainable cluster of expertise in the area of transdermal drug delivery”. The awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday 29th October at the Ballsbridge Hotel, Dublin. The HIPODERM team will be represented by Dr. McLoughlin along with Tom Brennan and Ken O’Shea of EirGen Pharma.
